Committing your life to Christ is the greatest decision you can ever make. The Bible tells us in Luke 15:10 that “there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner that repents.” There is a party going on in heaven because of the decision you have made and we at Citizens Church are rejoicing right along with them!
As you move forward from here, we want you to know that we’re committed to come along side you and helping you grow into all that God has for your new life in Him.
Step into reading… You might say that the Bible is the “user’s manual” for the life that we’ve all been searching for. In the pages of the Bible, we discover everything we need to know about God and the life that pleases Him. 2 Timothy 3:16-17 teaches us that, “All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right. God uses it to prepare and equip his people to do every good work.”
Step into praying… Praying is simply talking to God. Although prayer can seem intimidating to some, it’s God’s desire that we would learn to interact with Him and enjoy doing so. God doesn’t require us to be formal or polished in our prayers, He simply desires that we pray and share with him all that is in our hearts. In prayer we can seek Gods counsel and help for all of life’s situations. Prayer will help you keep close to the Lord and remain open to His will. In Luke 18 Jesus tells his disciples a story in order to teach them “…that they should always pray and never give up.”
Step into joining… Becoming a part of a church is important to your spiritual growth. The church is not simply an organization, but more like an organism. In the church, we grow together spiritually as we interact with each other in and around the person and work of Jesus. The church provides you with spiritual instruction from God’s word, a chance to worship God with other believers, allows you to discover and use your God given gifts and abilities, and helps to keep you accountable to growing spiritually. God’s word tells us In Hebrews 10:25 to “…let us not neglect our meeting together, as some people do…”
Step into sharing… Next to knowing Jesus personally and walking with Him, one of the greatest blessings of our new life in Him is leading someone else to Jesus. God has given you the greatest gift available to man and wants you to share that good news of what He has done with others so they might come to know Him as well. Mark 16:15 tells us to “go into all the world and preach the good news to everyone.”
God has an amazing plan for your life and you’ve just taken a huge step in the right direction. As you walk with Him, Citizens Church is committed to coming along side you every step of the way.
