A New Thing

Scripture

Isaiah 43:15-19

15. I am the Lord, your Holy One, Israel’s Creator, your King.” 16. Thus says the Lordwho makes a way in the sea, a path in the mighty waters, 17. who brings forth chariot and horse, army and warrior; they lie down, they cannot rise, they are extinguished, quenched like a wick 18. “Remember not the former things, nor consider the things of old. 19. Behold, I am doing a new thing; now it springs forth, do you not perceive it? I will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert.

Main Idea

God is always good and faithful. Sometimes it’s helpful to look back and celebrate all that God has done. However, it’s easy to settle in what God has done or how He did it that we miss out on what God wants to do next.

Introduction

Take some time to introduce yourself to the group.

Then ask the group to introduce themselves.

Try one of the Icebreakers

1. God is Good

2. There Is More

SUMMARY

God’s plans for our lives are so much bigger than we could imagine. We can get stuck in the past, or settle in the present. The promise for every believer is always a future. There is always more.

CALL TO ACTION

As we enter a new season, spend this time in prayer. Dedicate time to praise God for what he has done, ask Him what He wants to do next, and surrender to His plan. Then, dedicate time to sit in stillness, listening for His response and trusting that His presence is with you. Write down what He speaks to you, and take steps toward the more.
