WHAT IF THIS SUMMER WAS DIFFERENT?
Come spend the summer at Citizens Church in southern California. You’ll spend 8 weeks growing spiritually, developing your leadership, building community and getting hands-on experience in ministry. We’re looking for committed and passionate young adults that feel a call into ministry to join us for their best summer yet!
The Citizens Internship runs for 8 weeks from May 24th- July 20th and is for ages 17-29.

Cost: $400/$550 with housing
PRACTICUMS
Interns will get the opportunity to choose from one of the following practicums. Your practicum will serve as their anchor ministry for the internship.
Pastoral – Worship – Kids – Students – Creative – Production
THE TRACKS
ESSENTIALS TRACK
Interns will be asked to commit approximately 7 hours per week to the ESSENTIALS TRACK.
This streamlined version of our Citizens Summer Internship is designed specifically for young adults who want to grow in their faith and leadership but need something more flexible.
Here’s what’s included:
• Weekly Leadership Development Class
• Weekly Spiritual Formation Class
• Hands-on Sunday Ministry Experience in your practicum of choice
• Optional access to all the special events for an additional cost.
TUESDAYS:
6:00-8:00pm- Personal Leadership Class
THURSDAYS:
6:00-8:00pm- Spiritual Formations Class
SUNDAYS:
3hrs in the morning – Hands on experience in your ministry practicum.
SPECIAL EVENTS
Optional and offered at a cost.
IMMERSION TRACK
Interns will be asked to commit approximately 15 hours per week to the IMMERSION TRACK.
TUESDAYS:
10:30-12:00pm- Staff meeting (attend at least 2)
6:00-8:00pm- Personal Leadership Class
WEDNESDAYS:
5:45- 9:00pm- Youth Crews (optional if not in Student Prac)
THURSDAYS:
9:00-10:00am- Small groups
11:00am-12:00pm- Practicum meeting
6:00-8:00pm- Spiritual Formations Class
SUNDAYS:
7:15am- 1:45pm- Hands on experience in your ministry practicum.
SPECIAL EVENTS
May 24th- Welcome dinner
May 25th- Welcome Sunday
June 7-8th- Summer Blast set up
June 9th-12th- Summer Blast (7:30am-1:00pm)
June 16th-19th- Surf Camp (optional if not in Student Prac)
You’ll also have the opportunity to be part of some of our favorite Summer events: Mountain Day, Joshua Tree overnight camping and Beach day
INTERESTED IN HOSTING?
Your hospitality opens up the opportunity for a young adult to spend the summer learning and growing in their leadership and spiritual development with Citizens.
Hosting an intern is really simple. Each intern is expected to cover their own food and transportation. All they need from you is their own room and access to a kitchen.
They will be arriving the week of May 18th and the internship ends on July 20th.

OTHER DETAILS & INFORMATION
The Vision- It is our desire to train and equip young people to experience, grow in and develop their spiritual, personal, and physical life. To be part of the local church making a difference and seeing lives changed through life in Christ.
If you’d like the opportunity to grow spiritually, as a leader, build community, get hands-on experience in ministry, and be challenged then our Internship is for you.
The Citizens Internship is an 8-week commitment. It is our desire that you would get the most out of this opportunity so your full participation is required to be part of the internship.
The Citizens Church Internship is not a paid internship.
If you are coming from out of town and need a place to stay just let us know and we will work to accommodate you in a host home
It is highly recommended that interns have a vehicle. However, for those who do not have it, Transportation will be provided to and from host homes to internship events.
Interns will have time/availability to work. However, it will be on the interns to seek out job opportunities. Citizens will not be providing work opportunities at this time
